Hi Spen, you should have a few days under your belt when you see this message. I was the queen of “One drink can’t hurt,” the problem was it was never one drink, even if it was for that night, it led to me gradually increasing and being right back to where I was before.
Have you thought about online AA meetings? That might be a good fit, or additional support to in person meetings.
Keep checking in, you can do it this time Spen! Also, from someone who turned 51 in December, I’m another who is going to say 50 is not old!

Through 7 days with no drama and luckily no cravings. When I was sober for 8 years I had no cravings either. Sleep is a little better, still only 4 to 5 hours. I’m sure this will improve
You’re doing great spen—rebuilding your long-term sobriety with a good foundation.
Have you thought about what you are going to add / subtract to your sobriety plan to shore up the breech? I relapsed after long-term (not as long as yours) and really had to dig down to the next level of cause/ effect / response to improve my tools.

14 days done! No cravings. Stopped smoking too. I’m an all or nothing kind of guy so rather do both together.
sleeping is much better. Still feel exhausted, hopefully will feel better as time goes on

hi everyone. Sorry for being quiet. The AV was massive beginning of February. Had the F it moment. Cue, 5 weeks of misery. Back on day 4 now. Day 1 was tough with withdrawals but got through it and feel ok now apart from not sleeping well. Determined this time, I’ve realised what a mess my life is!
