Hi

Trying again to stop drinking ..as I realised u can't do it anymore

Your head is a mess right now, so it's not surprising it seems futile, but you can't expect to see the light when you are where you are right now. Don't give up. It's there, and you can find it.

Keep an open mind about the fact that alcohol can be physically addicting and thus some people need to be physically separated from alcohol via some type of in-patient detox program at the start of their new sober life.

Welcome back. You can do this. The members here give some really good advice and one thing that is mentioned a lot is a plan.
Start brainstorming about a plan. What your sober life will look like. The tools and resources you will use to remain sober.
take it one step at a time. Post here. Join a monthly thread or start your own thread.

You are capable of achieving sobriety and living a life that you are proud to live. Quitting alcohol is hard and we have all had a day one. We are here for you!

I’m on day 15 after a bunch of attempts at moderating for years. You can do it if you really want it.
Feels pretty good to sleep and get stuff done. Be present mentally for my family.

Hi Hammy. I remember Day 1. Those first few are rough, but things will ease up & you'll begin to feel much better & less anxious.
I realized I couldn't do it anymore after decades of abusing it. It was stop or lose my life.
