Does moving help with recovery?
From experience, there are many times I felt like things would change if I just “up and moved.” And I did. Every three years. I even went halfway around the world.
If you aren’t in recovery, the addiction will follow you.

I moved across the world. People, places and life circumstances changed but nothing changed in terms of my alcohol consumption. My alcoholism continued to progress into the later stages. As they say, everywhere you go there you are. My problem came with me because I hadn’t addressed it.
I still live on the other side of the world, but I’m almost 6 months sober now. Choosing sobriety changed things, doesn’t matter where you do it.
