This has been key to my sobriety and recovery. Making the people, places and things in my life as best fit for my recovery as possible. If they are healthy and make me feel good they’re in, if not, then they’re not in my life. I can always learn from anybody and I can’t choose everybody or situation in my life, but when I can I choose to make them suit my lifestyle and my ethos on life. Ultimately my sobriety and recovery had and has to come first.

I agree 100%. My life is structured around sober, healthy living, exercise, and time with those who are intellectually challenging or interesting. It is not a tedious, dreary life either. I have more energy and more fun this way. I occasionally will spend time with friends or acquaintances who drink, but I limit it and always have a way to remove myself from the situation (ie my car).
