Hi, I'm new to SR
Hi, my name is Kehaulani. I'm a 59 year old divorced women. I am new to SR. I actually signed up in may but have just been checking it out. You guys have given me lots of ideas and several book recommendations that have been helpful and I wanted to say thanks. I'm 7 months sober in my third attempt at sobriety, just looking for support and ways others have been able to maintain a sober life. It's been a tough journey to get to this third recovery. I've been hospitalized three times for Alcohol caused illness's I'm lucky to be alive.
I'm not very good at this forum thing but you all seem so positive and supportive. Things are good and stable right now for me but I'm scared of relapsing again. Hopefully being a part of this forum will help keep me on the right path. Thanks for being there!

Kehaulani - You did just fine posting We're so glad to have you join us.
Congrats on your 7 mos. sober. I drank 30 yrs. before finding SR & finally facing the truth - that I could never touch another drop. Up until coming here I had imagined I could control it - despite the disaster it had made of my life.
It feels so good to be free. I hope you'll read & post often. I still come here every day for encouragement & to remind myself I can never go back to that horrible way of life.
Welcome!

Welcome to SR Kehaulani! Glad to see you have joined the posting side of things and congratulations on 7 months sober. Perhaps being more involved here can help you this time around, I know it was very helpful for me to be active.
Seven months, awesome job, Kehaulani! I share your fear of relapsing, I started to be sober in September 2019. And looking back it was a bit of a quest, a quest though where this very fear turned out to be a heck of an engine. It genuinely forces me each day to remain active when it comes to stagnation and problem solving.
Congratulations again, I'm looking forward to learn more about you. Uphold your spirit and enjoy this great forum!

Glad you're here. It really makes a difference. This placed saved me.. more than once!
With 7 months you will have plenty to share with others who are just embarking on their sober journey.
