Sorry your son is struggling Nonsensical, yours too Soberleigh. My daughter has lost all control of alcohol as well. I haven't seen her for 3 years now, she texts me when she is feeling anxious which is often. Yesterday she was fearful of losing her job. I periodically send her links to her local AA and this website but it falls on deaf ears. I think/hope she will eventually come to me when she is ready for help. I haven't told her I am sober, I don't know why.

It seems addiction is strife at the moment. My older brother told me last night he has a date for Rehab.
He lives in Ireland and has been to rehab a few times already.
Anyways in normal life i believe there are two soccer matches tonight, quarter finals of EURO 2020/21.
That will pass the evening nicely. My prognostic : Spain and Belgium to qualify
@MantaLady How was the camping trip ?
I think camping is really liberating. I never feel so much on holiday as in a campsite or tent... We have two weeks planned for August.

Vinny, hope all goes well for your brother. This addiction is so much bigger than I ever realised. I was so ashamed of myself for many years and too embarrassed to ask for help.
This is a good site to shout out if you’re struggling, don’t be shy….many of us have been in similar situations.
Very High pollen count here and do I know about it.

Thanks for the thread Mags, I'm IN for another sober weekend.
Mags, the pollen is indeed very high. I was sneezing a lot yesterday. Thankfully it has eased up but I imagine more sneezing is on the way.

LoveHateWine, I hope all works out and that you can hold on to your sobriety while you go through this medical event. Nothing could make it worse than wine right now.

It's a bit on the cool side, having rained a while ago, but it's sunny and nice so I took Billie for a little walk to check her peemail. I love having nice weather so we can go for lots of walks. Making up for all the walks we couldn't take last winter.

I hope Billie caught up with all the local goings on least.
I watched the Italy Belgium game outside a bar tonight . A neutral game in the company of moderate drinkers was more than tolerable. I certainly won't be doing that for tomorrow's England game, I will be so glad not to be one of the drunken hoards.
