Three Months Sober
Three months is great Freedom. Congratulations.
I don't know what to say about the benzos except, good luck with that one.
Don't underestimate them Freedom.
Anyrate, still good you are off the grog. Keep it up.

Congrats on no booze for three months!!...But those benzos, man. Take them as prescribed there's a lot of horror stories around here about those. Also take it easy on the diet soda I saw an episode of Intervention where a woman was drinking 24 colas a day....not good.
Those benzos FF. Getting clean from those is so tough. When you get to that, be mindful of going back to drinking to allay the unpleasant symptoms of withdrawal from benzos. Have a really solid plan on that front because benzo withdrawal would make many many of us drink to escape that.
I am so proud of you for not drinking for 3 months. Such a gift to your body, mind and future. Time to get fully clean and live your healthiest life.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Yeah, I need to get a handle on the Ativan thing. Not much else to say.
I don't see any problem with using Antabuse to stay sober. Maybe I'd be drunk right now if I wasn't on it. But I am on it. And I intend to be on it for the foreseeable future. So what's the problem? I blacked out on hand sanitizer three months ago. If taking Antabuse prevents that from happening, isn't that a good thing?

Congrats on Three Months!! I was on ativan for a week years ago on an ‘as needed’ basis, and I know how hard it is to kick…Even at such a short period of time it was 3 days of horrible withdrawals before I felt better.
Ativan made me feel great while taking the edge off but I saw the evil path I was headed down once I realized i needed a bigger dose to work every time…
Hope u feel and get better as time in your sobriety goes on.

Benzo's on the other hand are basically alcohol in pill form - they have very similar effects and are just as addictive, if not even more so, than alcohol. So while it's certainly good that you aren't drinking alcohol, it's probably even worse that you are actively abusing benzo's from a sobriety standpoint. You are in essence abusing the benzos in exactly the same fashion as you were abusing the alcohol, but it can be argued that benzos are even worse for you. While not the same thing, it's kind of like celebrating 3 months sober from Heroin but moving on to Fentanyl instead.
Bottom line, you are certainly making some efforts - but from an addiction perspective the substace itself isn't even the real crux of the issue - it's our behavior surrounding it that needs to change most.

Just saying FF from my own perspective when I used Antabuse it was a crutch. Yes I needed it but eventually I realized I couldn't take it to stop my drinking anymore. I needed to figure out how to do things without drugs.
