Afternoon Weekenders

That's a great picture Willow. I can never remember if kangaroos are naturally shy or naturally aggressive though I guess with baby roo in the pouch mother roo would be very protective.

Kaily, hopefully your neighbours are being considerate and a 10.30pm finish will be the norm if they decide to have parties on a (weekend?) night. That seems to be the normal finish time for parties in the housing estate where I live.

Sao, looking at what else is on display, it does seem like an interesting museum. It certainly seems worth going to.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Willow, good picture. I can imagine mom kangaroo is very protective of their young. Glad you had a good weekend.

CaptainHaddock, the Medieval Torture Museum would bring tears to my eyes.

Glad to be going to drive by communion with my mom. I think this is the last week they are doing it. Church is really important to my mom, so we'll see if we can get her there next week without too much pain to her foot. I am really trying and to see her so vulnerable really brings out a soft spot in me for her.
Glad it is a little cooler today.
Great to see all of our weekenders and your lovely posts. Love the beautiful pictures, esp of the kangaroo. I love them too. Although I love all animals, I think!
Have a great day all. Love and peace.

Wow! This weekend was particularly tough with the bbq’s and sunny days…A perfect trigger to crack a 12-pack!

I played the outcome in my head and didn’t like how I would feel the next day…Same ole story with the paws…That sucked then, and it would suck now NOPE!! Not worth it.

Glad I didn’t drink 😇

Well done Introvrtd1 on not giving in to any temptation and on staying sober. There seems to be BBQ's everywhere at the moment. I guess people the world over are trying to make up for the year+ of lockdown and lack of socialising. Add in sunny weather and it's definitely a strong trigger for drinking. Well done on playing the outcome in your head and on not drinking.

Introvrtd, keep knocking that AV down to size. It tries to be a trickster but you won, well done.

Taking my Dad shopping today and picking up his washing - well what he will give me. He is under the impression that trousers don't need washing, ever! Same with his coat and bedding. It is embarrassing as he lives in a flat and it is creating quite an odour in the foyer. He gets very cross if I try and wash any of this stuff. I think the other residents must think I don't look after him. I did notice someone placed an air freshener near his door.

I'm sorry, I am always full of woe and worry.

Good Morning Weekenders

Kaily, don’t apologise for your feelings. Your dad may have lost his sense of smell maybe. I think it’s so lovely of you to take him shopping and want to help him. I know how independent and may I say stubborn some elderly (and any age come to think of it ) can be. Does he ever go anywhere without you so you can change his bedclothes while he’s out.

Intro, well done on beating the AV.

Thanks Mags. He has always been the same. I dread to think what I must of smelt like when I was young living with him and didn't know any different. His coat is thirty years old and never been cleaned. He still has blankets on his bed that were on my bed as a child - according to him you don't wash blankets.

I feel exhausted. What with neighbours and him, I feel downtrodden and down. I'm naturally a helpful person but I am getting jaded and feel invisible with only the dogs to talk to.

It must be wearying Kaily. It would be nice if you and Alfie and Daisy could take a break for a while. Recharge your batteries.

Good morning,
Another successfully sober weekend for everyone I see...fantastic. Kaily you can put that trickster Av of yours to good work and trick your dad into an afternoon of bingo or something while a maid does the washing...

I feel really bad for the folks in the Northwest part of the states right now. Almost no one has air conditioning. I hope not too many people suffer too much. It's dangerous.

I had a very busy weekend, one in which some things went right, and some went wrong. I fell down a few stairs at the man friend's cabin on Saturday while I had my hands full with a shop-vac and a broom, so no way of stopping myself when I placed a foot wrong and started to slide. Fell right on my bottom. I also did 5.5 hours' worth of driving that day, and sat on a bumpy riding lawn mower for a couple of hours. Needless to say, my lower back doesn't feel too good. All sorts of things went wrong that day - lawn implements kept breaking. His small push lawn mower has a broken shaft, one of the riding mowers didn't want to start (finally it did but it probably needs work) and his battery-operated weed trimmer, which is a year old, just quit working. Just a bad luck day.

My daughter who is on her trip is having a great time. They marched in a huge Pride Parade in NYC yesterday and got to see the Stonewall! This is a super big deal to a trans kid from a small town. I'm really happy for her. Also happy for my other daughter and granddaughter, because my daughter went to the bank and they figured out a loan for her that will allow her to keep her house that she bought with her ex boyfriend. She needs to give him some money (which I will help with) and then they get to move out of my house and back into their home. We are all very happy about that.

I missed birthdays over the weekend, I see - so
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, Leigh and Sam!

Glad to hear you and your dad are doing ok, Captain.
