Hi All,
I passed the 2 year milestone last week - still can't believe it's been that long!
I've not posted on here in a while, but I do keep checking in now and again for inspiration. I still struggle a bit at times, and it helps to read a few threads and see how people are progressing, so thanks for being here. I'm so glad I took that decision to quit - I don't think I would still be here otherwise. My health has improved enormously, in particular my liver, which was very fatty and causing lots of pain. I had a fibroscan recently (4.6), which is on the lower end of normal, so it's been well worthwhile.
If you're thinking of quitting, please do - you won't regret it.
Take care,
Andy.

What a great post NewDayNewMe.
Thanks, and congratulations on 2 years. Just made 18 months, and am so glad I made it. So far. So easily could have been the reverse.
It's so much better being sober. What a nightmare is actively drinking.

That’s a great fibroscan score. I had a fibroscan 8 months after quitting and scored 7, which is at the top end of normal but otherwise OK. As you know, there about 10 to 15 individual readings, and one or two of mine scored 8. My liver had a lot of abuse, and I really believe I was a year or two away from cirrhosis. Anyway, the doctor said all was OK, abs that was nearly two years ago. No pain at all. I’d be curious to have another fibroscan, but I’d have to pay, and I know I’m good.
