The most important thing about today is to express gratitude for those that have served our country and have given us all the freedoms, including the freedom to be either sober or not. As we struggle with our sobriety, I think of those who have come back from war, witnessed death, destruction and experienced first hand abuse, confinement, injury and in some cases worse, the loss of a loved one or of their own life. Many come back only to find loneliness and isolation. Many suffer from PTSD, alcoholism and drug addition. On this Memorial Day I don't want to focus on my own troubles or struggles but send a HUGE thank you to all those that have served so that I can be free. Thank You!
