Free2bme888’s Moving forward thread 2, great pics of drive through a national monument

This drive was in November, in the western part of my state which is quite desert like.

Here is pic #1

This is looking north, taken from a pull out on this 23 mile winding road that caresses steep cliffs and showcases beautiful rock formations and geological erosion. Fills our minds with wonder and awe at the forces of nature and time.

Another angle of that gorgeous, amazing spire reaching to the heavens. In the background, you can see a small community that inhabits the valley.

This monument offers incredible views, wildlife, and great hikes. No dogs allowed outside of owners vehicles in National Monuments in the United States to preserve the quiet serenity and protect wildlife from harassment.

Ooops. Pic #1 actually facing east. The dark flat top mountain in the far background is 12,000 ft +, called the Grand Mesa.

I'm always amazed to see the layers in the rock defined so sharply as on a cliff. Nature and time - wow!
