Almost 2 years and going back to school!

It's so hard to believe that I'm getting close to 2 years of sobriety! I'm finding it harder to stay engaged with the recovery community but I found a way to handle that and also make a much needed career change!

I was just accepted into a graduate program for addiction counseling! I think often of the people that I worked with while in treatment and how much they helped me change my life - I'll now have an opportunity to help other people starting the journey. I've wrestled for years about going back to school to get a grad degree in social work - but didn't really know what I would do with it (social work is SO VAST...100's of different areas) - I'm happy I found something specific where I can give back and continue my journey in recovery.

I'm about to turn 40 - feel like I'm giving myself the best bday gift 🎁

I hope everyone is having a good day. Remember, you are worth it. Recovery is possible, even when it feels like it's not. 💙

Really timely post. I just signed up for graduate school today after 20 years since I was last in school. Made possible by sobriety._
