Richard Burton on alcoholism I don't know if many have seen the video of Burton speaking about his problems on YouTube; helped me to clarify things a lot and beautifully describes the disease. I recall his words about how it feels to be an alcoholic to help keep me off the booze. Strange reaction from the audience at times; I think they think he's going to tell amusing drinking anecdotes. I am not able to post the link. Currently, on Day 4. Drinking chamomile tea. |
Yes, I love that video. I'm not sure why exactly, as I'm not big into celebrities, but there's something about those of them who share their sobriety that I find very helpful. Thanks for the reminder. And congrats on your sober time. It just keeps getting better. |
I love it, too. I am a huge Richard Burton fan and also a Dick Cavett fan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-ovqN_vsVU |
I haven't seen that video Cornishman, and will tune in for sure. Is Burton one of your countrymen? I'm glad his story could help you, just as our stories here can do same. We've all got a bit of Burton in us. I might have a bit of Elizabeth, my shrew needing to be tamed. Not too tame tho. :) Congratulations on 4 days Cornishman, and as lessgravity points out it really does get better. Hold the line, and it will be yours. |
Thanks Suki. :) |
