Thank you

Thank you everyone for your support during my daughter's mental health crisis. I couldn't get back because so preoccupied with her health and safety. Meeting again with her doctors today. So grateful for universal health care. We'd be homeless under a bridge otherwise.

Just wanted to let all Newcomers know that no matter how difficult it is, or or hard it sucks, drinking is never the answer, and nor will it ever be.

I'm sober. Sixteen months a few days ago.

Rock on Newcomers. You have nothing to lose but your shame.

Can you imagine if my daughter's doctor phoned me to confirm todays appointment and I was half tanked?! Perish the thought Steely, you'll freak yourself out. 😬 So glad to be sober.

You will be too.

It's good to hear from you Steely, and that things are going well. I agree with you completely about universal health care. Sixteen months of recovery is fantastic and be proud of yourself and how well you are handling everything involving your daughter's care.

Thank you Anna and least. ❤️

My sobriety is strong least. Thankfully I got to that point where I wanted sobriety more than I wanted to drink.

I'm ever so grateful.

Dearest Steely, I'm so glad you are enduring these hard times sober. Like you said, we just couldn't be there for our people if we were drunk. You and your daughter are in my thoughts often. You are a warrior for her and she deserves that. Take care friend.

Thanks to you both, my friends.

We never say die in the Newcomers. Totally fresh, and ready to rock on sober. Ride those waves 🏄🏼‍♀️. I'm still a dork. Haha

Steely, I Hope you were able to get things situated with your daughter at her appointment today, I am very glad you have good healthcare for her.

I love your message to Newcomers, and I completely agree with it. I have been sober for over five years now, and I’ve dealt with many difficult things in the past five years, and if I had still been drinking any of the situations I had to deal with would have been made worse.

Sending you and your daughter so much love.

❤️Delilah

Hi Steely, you were one of the first ones to reply when I just started here and since then always a little bit in my thoughts. I´m so glad for you you got sober. Indeed things would turn out much more difficult in these circumstances. Stay strong, I wish you all the best and all the health for you and your daughter. Congratulations on 16 months! 🎈🎈🎈

Thank you all. ❤️

Well, I waxed my board and rode that Bombora through the corridors of the hospital, and now call myself Midget Farrelly. An early aus surf champ. Haha. It was a great outcome, though still early days.

It would not have been possible without sobriety. Without you mob.

Yours in complete dorkdem. - Steely

Rock on Dropsie. I like it, too. ❤️

Shame was the worst for me. No more shrinking away for me. I'm regaining my confidence, which I never thought possible.

United we stand. Sober.

Good to see you Steely, and I really hope things will start looking better for you and your daughter in all this. Sobriety definitely helps to manage crises of all kinds well, especially when loved ones are concerned. To be really present and make appropriate decisions. Congratulations on the 16 months and thanks for the inspiration!
