Morning all!

It's a lovely sunny Saturday. Washing is in the machine and once hung out I'm off out for a walk. Football on TV at noon then another walk this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Welcome, Ladytron - every weekend sober is a good weekend. Stick with us, welcome to Weekenders.

I have to say, you Brits are good rule followers...it surprises me that everyone is making plans to get together face to face on the very first opportunity. I'm still feeling gun-shy...and I've been fully vaccinated for over a month.

Sober Saturday morning never gets old.

Where's Kaily?

I related to the shyness about getting around people during pandemic transition (other than situations where it is required) - not quite ready yet, but hopefully will be at some point in near future. But for today, planting the garden boxes! Some unseasonably warm weather here. Don't want to reminisce about how sunny Saturdays may have been wasted in the boozy days. Today is today - and I have some lovely planting to do.

Huge congrats on that four months, CBS. I'm pretty sure you're one of us who won't soon forget how hard early sobriety is. You're going to love this summer.

Grateful09, the planting sounds soothing and Spring-y. Edibles or just for pure enjoyment? And, yeah, I'm in Washington and I'm loving the weather. Just back from my two hour walk and starving~ well, not exactly starving but hungry.

Evening here I’m watching the sunset with a cup of tea. Feeling a bit weird to be sober and also making arrangements to meet people outside my “bubble’. Strange days indeed, but getting better.

well, it's been a few weeks since we were allowed to start meeting outdoors in small groups - not that lots of people weren't doing that before anyway - but I'm still not going anywhere near shops or restaurants. I think the most at risk of catching Covid I will have been all year is when I go to get my 1st jab next week!

Where's Kaily?
check in Kaily- hope you're doing okay x

& congratulations CBS62 - 4 months is fantastic

Congratulations on 4 months CBS!

Forwards that sounds like a lovely afternoon in the park

It’s a sober Sunday morning here and it’s looking like a beautiful day. I’m off to make a cup of coffee and perhaps sit outside in the early morning sun as it’s not too hot yet

Good to see everyone here

I should be more productive, but for now I'm grateful for quiet, drama-free evenings watching Youtube videos

Congratulations CBS and AD42L.

Grateful, I hope you had an enjoyable day planting.

I found after I’d passed the anxiety and stress hurdles when newly sober, that I had all this spare time left especially at the weekends. Like many I did go for walks and drives, (wonderful to drive a car without worrying if I may have alcohol in my system still). I got back in touch with nature and watched and listened all about me. I also got back to my passion of reading books.

One of the most poignant act I remember in my early days, is the fridge light. It had been out for a long while. It was a simple task to change the bulb, but I’d neglected the small act. Changing that bulb was a ‘ping’ moment for me. I felt that small job was a big step forward in my sobriety.

Mags, yes, I had those moments too in early sobriety when I'd realize I was doing something I'd neglected to do for a long time.

Weekend is going well. Nice enough weather today to get in three dog walks. A total of 2.5 miles. And Billie trots merrily along, her tail waving back and forth like a flag. Dog walking is one of my favorite things to do. And it's free! Costs nothing to take her for a walk or two or three.

I am so grateful for my sobriety.
