We have lots of venomous snakes and spiders (and deadly jellyfish in the sea), but they don’t chase us! Or eat us! Except in the water (crocs and sharks).
I’m used to avoiding the nasties in Australia, and I would be much more afraid of those big carnivores that want to eat us!

Just winding up 4 weeks sober tonight

Andyh good to see you putting up a few posts.

Willow and Kaptn, well done. Early days are not easy, and Kaptn the interpersonal stuff gets a lot easier in time, too. Every nerve in my body screamed at me at the slightest perturbing altercation or stress. Emotions were super close to the surface. Hang on. It gets SO much better.

The advice online for cougars is to carry a walking stick and to fight if attacked. I always have carried a stick but if you're hit from behind (which they would do) by a 200 pound cat with claws and teeth I'm wondering if maybe that stick might go flying out of reach. Maybe that roar I heard was a bear. The sound a cougar makes doesn't sound like what I heard (thanks, YouTube.)

It wasn't a squirrel or a hawk, that much I'm sure.

Seems like blood-letting would help the blood pressure.

I really suck at participating in this thread......

Ill try again this week. I know I can do this. I'm not sure where the hang up is?
Honestly, I need a notebook to jot down what everyone is talking about and then I can formulate a response that stays on topic to what everyone is talking about. There are a lot of people up in here

I think my idea will help and then my posts, like the one I am typing now, wont seem so random and off topic.......
Thanks for reading.

WONDERFUL, Adrunk42long. You are doing this!

Congratulations on 4 weeks Willow!
Congratulations on 3 weeks AD42L!

Hang in there Kaptn, although the AV does come around again the frequency gets longer and the intensity lessens over time so it does get a lot easier.

There is a Hemingway themed pub about a mile from my place (it is called the Hemingway) It is a gastropub so food too, Covid permitting. I don't recall ever going there surprisingly.

There has been a significant easing of lockdown restrictions here today. It is strange seeing busy streets again.
