PAWS/ ARBD month 9
Sometimes the only way is forward MeSober.
There's no answers back the way you came right?
I think getting enough sleep, having balance in your life between work and play, eating right and exercise are all key elements in mitigating the effects of PAWs.
who diagnosed you with ARBD?

I'm sorry to hear that.
From my own experience (20 year alcoholism, 30 years pot and ministrokes in detox) it took a long time for my cognitive faculties to come back in full, but they did. The Brain is very adept at repairing itself and training other parts of the brain to take over functions.
Do not give up hope .

I was pretty jacked up for over a year, but I could feel it getting better.
I was hearing weird non existent music, seeing halos on things, had trouble walking straight up (i was hunching over to get my head closer to the ground or something), and other odd mental and physical anomalies.
My experience is unique, and may not be like yours, but just knowing that someone was in hell like me gave me some comfort when I learned they healed. I have healed, but then my addiction tells me "let's get drunk." Addict for life.
Like Dee said, drinking again is not going fix anything in the long run. It might send a person into palookaville for a few minutes, but like other drugs the high doesn't last long. Then the crash, hangover/detox/healing starts again except from a little deeper hell and a fresh addiction.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the post.
It helped me today.

It is not unusual to go a month without seeing dramatic changes in your well being. That was not the chart my journey would have created. Arguably there would be months where the line graph takes a dive. It's more like a slow generally upward line of travel. And also, many months improvement is not noticeable at the time. This thing doesn't happen over night.
