I stopped during the pandemic and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Please know that if you stay sober, the awful anxiety will ease up. But you have to stay sober to get to that point. By drinking so soon, you've just perpetuated the cycle. The more you relapse, the harder it gets to get sober. Please dump the wine and get thru the next few days sober. Give yourself a chance to heal.

What least said has been true for me too. The anxiety abates gradually as the sober days add up. Plus your sleep should improve quite a bit as well. Real sleep—not the drunk pass out sleep which isn’t really restful.

Hi all,
Thank you for your care and support. Trying again. Detoxing and going through the same misery as I did last weekend. Shaky, sweaty, and upset stomach. Going to head out for a walk.

I have been in a recovery program before; last year and it was great until everything went on line. Omce
my head clears, I’ll consider counseling again. I have made an appt with a personal trainer on Monday to help me get my fitness and health back.

Hi Jewel - I'm so glad you posted. You never have to go through this again. Great idea to see about counseling.

Another day one in the books. Tomorrow has to be day 2. I haven’t made it passed day 2 in months.
rereading Rational Recovery and making a new commitment tonight. I must not change my mind.
plan for tomorrow is church, lunch with family, and I will not leave the house alone.
can’t wait to feel hope again.
PS My poor little dog has been sick since 3 AM. I haven’t gotten any sleep which isn’t helping my mood. In bed for the night going to read and watch a few videos.

Your plan for tomorrow sounds good.
You're smart to keep your mind occupied. Very sorry your dog is sick - hope you can get some rest.
