I'm only day 11 but 1 thing I do is I smoke when I drink, i never smoke when I'm not drinking, I really dont like it when I'm not . It's like a timer, once I have 1 cigarette that's it then for the night..so I'll be saving on cigs too cause they are so expensive.
I wanted to add about some other things I've saved on. I have a mortgage and even with low rates - I was too lazy and drinking all the time to like re-finance, for 10 years.... I also let my insurance rates for auto and home go way up from inaction and my 10 year life insurance lapsed so - yep they hiked that crap up as much as they could. Even my first year sober, I was like - this is SOBER first, the rest comes later. So last year - during start of year 2 - I tackled some of these annoying time consuming things of going through new quotes, making decisions, researching options and getting on with cutting down unnecessary extra costs/expenses I always *KNEW* I should be addressing these things in the past years -- but motivation was lost. When every day is getting to the bottle after work, then trying to survive through work hunger over and a mess -- these types of complicated, time consuming tasks were ignored.
