Wow - 6 years today. The journey has not been without its ups and downs. There have been some wonderful highs and certainly lows. I have kept my promise.

"I do not drink alcohol, and I will never change my mind, no matter what."

That mantra has served me well over these 6 years. Whenever I think a drink might be a good idea, I remember my promise, repeat it and move on.

For those who are struggling today, please know that living sober is leaps and bounds above living with your addiction. Waking up sober and knowing I didn't do something foolish and being able to face the day without shakes, headaches, nausea is a very empowering place to be.

Keep up the good fight.
