Yah for a week! Anxiety is running high the last two days...this morning. Usually I have xnanx or alcohol to fall back on, since I don't have either I have to develope new coping skills.

End of day 7. It's really hard to deal with my drunk husband while trying to maintain sobriety.
Everything is so dramatic, simple conversations are confrontational, every conversation has to be repeated in the morning because he won't remember. It actually reinforces my resolve to stay sober and sad that, that is how i probably acted as well. All days added together I've probably been sober 4 out of 6 months. I just wish he would make an attempt to try and quit. So i am in bed way early, posting on here, in order to bypass any drama. Going to bed sober. Very frusterated.

The "sipping" is terrible.

Like a white pointer shark.

Didn't you say didn't get drunk yesterday, today "sipping"?

I think I might have missed a page(s) on your thread backtogood . I now see you are sober for over a week. I'm sorry.

Congratulations.

No. Those torturous sips blind to the meaning of moderation.

Like a white pointer shark circling the glass. Exhausting.

Kiss that goodbye.

You can do this and you are doing this. I am sorry to hear that your home life is not peaceful.
Turn on a sitcom or movie and know that you are making the best decision possible for your life.

I'm mainly venting as to put the emotion somewhere and not to numb it. Sometimes saying something out loud maked it seem smaller.

I lived with a drinker during a long period of sobriety. It strengthened my commitment to remain sober.

They (me) can be utter bores tho.

That would be very tough BTG, but it sounds like you are up to the task. You folks who can stay sober in a drinking house truly amaze me. There would have just been no way but when drinking I was about as weak a person as you could imagine. I hope your spouse begins to see what kind of daily consciousness and awareness you are enjoying and perhaps that will motivate him to change as well.

Good morning day 8. Eventually I'll quit counting, at the moment counting and posting keeps me accountable to somebody besides myself. I am Grateful to wake up sober. Let's see what i can do with today.
