I think there is a point when we get sick and tired of being sick and tired. We have tried over and over to have a different conclusion with alcohol but it always ends up being the same answer. Getting sober, for me, was a series of failed attempts. I finally got there but the road was very very painful emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Today is your day. You have everything you need to take your life back. Use this forum as support. Structure your life in such a way where alcohol is not a part of it. You can most definitely do this.

You can definitely recover! It is possible if you commit yourself completely and begin a program of sorts. I'm not sure if you have tried quitting before, but putting a plan in place and creating a support system can be helpful. it also has been found that those who truly commit to sobriety tell those around them that they are quitting especially those whom they care about. I found it very difficult to continue spending time and communicating with the crowd that I was drinking and smoking with unless they were completely supportive. Best of luck in your new journey and be sure to comment here and send a message if you like.
