This thread is fascinating in that we're from all over the world, one big cyber family.

True internationalists!

Always wanted to go to USA and travel Highway 61. Bob Dylan's, "Highway 61 Revisited."

Is it a worthwhile journey? Am I living in fantasyland?

Steely - I haven't done the Blues Highway (just Route 66). You'd end up in New Orleans.

I'd love to visit all the places mentioned on this thread so far.

Thanks Hevyn. Is that how Highway 61 is known? "The Blues Highway"?

Sounds like the highway for me.

Used to travel AC DC's "Highway to Hell". I don't know, but always imagined this as the "Hume Highway", the Highway on which I lived when young. AC DC played in venues there before they became famous. It was pretty rugged, that's for sure. A few dead bodies stashed away there, I'd imagine. 😬

So many places I want to go, see. Baton Rouge comes to mind. Sometimes think travelling Australia should be my first stop. So much beauty, just as in USA. Wish they'd stop chopping down all the trees tho. Poor little Koalas.

Sorry if I've interrupted this thread, got to dreaming.

Australia and New Zealand are both on my wish list of places I'd like to visit.

I love having friends from all over the world. I feel like, anywhere I'd go, I'd likely know someone from there.

And another wonderful benefit of my friends here - one of them gave me a cat! Almost 7 yrs ago my brother drove me to Chicory's house and brought home her stray she had rescued. Lily has been a wonderful cat and I am so glad I knew Chic so I could give Lily her forever home.

Hi all,

Born in New Jersey but moved to Northern California when I was young. Spent many summers and Christmases back East (NY, Maine and of course NJ and the Jersey Shore) moved to Los Angeles after college for 8 years and have been back in the Bay Area for the last 15.

Cannot wait to see Australia one day and very much looking forward to England/Ireland/Scotland

My daughter lives in Seattle, and yes, it's rainy, but I love it.

Another lives in sunny San Jose, and that's lovely too.

I haven't traveled too much, but have found beauty everywhere I went.

Thanks to Dee's help finding it, here's an interactive map where members can mark their locations around the world. It's in "Interactive Word Games" forum at the bottom of the index page.

I am just outside San Jose. Having moved here from NJ somewhat recently the weather has been AMAZING. It simply doesn't rain. Or at least feels like that to me haha. The earthquakes though...

My daughter in SJ prays for rain daily, due to fire season. We so often have rain in Ohio and I always wish desperately that I could send it to the west coast instead.

My first trip to SJ I took Caltrain from SFO to SJ with my daughter who met me at the airport. I love Caltrain! What a cool way to travel. I was disappointed to find out that it does not go all the way along the length of CA. I'd love to take a train all along the west coast, amid the seascapes and forests.
