Day 7 Brain still foggy but still functioning !

So I’m now on Day 7 and STILL have brain fog ! However, I was called late last night by some folks who wanted me to contribute to a grant proposal due on Monday (they’re paying me obv). I was worried my brain fog would hamper the quality of my work but I just did the first bit and shared it with them and they said it was ‘excellent’ ! Phew. Given that this time last week I was puking my guts out after a week’s binge ( sorry if TMI), it is a miraculous turn around. I must only look forwards now, not back ! Your support here makes a huuuuge difference ! Thank you so much !

That's good to hear. I'm glad you're doing well in spite of the brain fog. And, keep looking forward.

Way to go ICDT! A week is fantastic, and so is being able to get things done effectively.

You're doing great.. keep it up, and keep posting!

Congratulations on day 7 ICDT! You're already seeing the benefits of sobriety and the brain fog will lift at some point.

After 2-3 weeks the fog lifted noticeably in my experience. At 5 weeks now and it’s a lot better. Thinking with more clarity.
I hope it goes the same for you!

It just takes a while. Reading, crossword puzzles, thinking, sleep, all helps.
Also- tons of water- some caffeine. I also put some “emerging-C” a powder vitamin B,C, Etc supplement. That helps. Eating good nutritional foods. I weighed 159 when I went to detox and I put on 30 pounds just from eating well- within 3 months or so- everyone says I look how I am supposed to now (I’m 6’ 190 now- no fat). Exercise is another thing that helps with that fog. Recognizing you have the fog is a good sign- you mind is healing!
