Day 5 - Bread and guacamole

Hi there ,
Into Day 5 now - have still got brain fog as am sleeping so badly. However am managing to hold it together with work Zoom calls. I have three hours until the next one so am making rye bread and guacamole from scratch ! Yum !
So far, so good, no cravings .. just memories of the horrors of withdrawal.. but I know when those fade, things become dangerous. If I occupy my hands, making things, my brain seems to be unable to do two things at once (ie think about drinking).. so busy, busy, busy ..
Thanks for your support !

Staying busy and good wholesome homemade food. Both great sobriety tools, ICDT. Keep it goin'.

That's why I do needlework. Can't knit, crochet, or embroider while drunk. Well, you can, I suppose, but you won't like the results the next morning!
A lot of people talk about how they used to drink wine while cooking. For me that just ended with something inedible.
Homemade bread and guacamole both sound delicious. What time is dinner?
😁😉

Wow you already dove into such wholesome activities! I'm thoroughly impressed. I'm creeping up on 30 days, one day at a time. I was told that time is my enemy in my early sobriety so I have managed to stay very busy. When I need time to kill, i take a really long bus somewhere. Sometimes a branch of my gym, sometimes friends, different AA meetings and fun things to treat myself. Congratulations on 5 days, that's huge!!

Great job ICDT! You're just about through the worst part now, the physical withdrawal. It will only get better.

And you're so productive! Keep it up!

Well done Icandothis. Keep building, it gets easier. The really good stuff takes times, but so worth it. It's the journey that makes it so very interesting. Drinking just doesn't cut it anymore. Never did, really. A fantasy only.

You can!
