Hi Weekenders,

Thanks Mags for the thread. The weekend is nearly over but I wanted to say hello. Still sober, still working hard, still grateful for everything I have been given.

All the best as always, Forwards.

PS: Thank you all for all the cheery pics!

Stayed sober! But now I'm having a panic attack and my heart is racing and I'm all shaky..
I wonder when this ends.

Samantha remember to breathe love. Deep breath, hold for 5 seconds, exhale slowly and repeat. I hope it helps you, I do this if I feel anxious. Sometimes it takes quite a few, but concentrating on your breathing should help hopefully xx

Samantha, I also used to get dreadful panic attacks. I still get them, though not as bad. I dealt with the worst of them by concentrating on my breathing, basically doing what Mags has suggested. After a while it became second nature to do that.

Morning Everyone x

Start my new job in 40 mins and promised myself to start a new routine and actually do it rather than thinking about it and doing nothing. Got up at 6:30am and actually got dressed rather than sit around all day in comfy pj’s. Did a 15 minute morning meditation and then put a 10 min workout on my tv on YouTube and did that!! I am so painfully unfit it was embarrassing but I did it lol!! Both the cats were staring at me wide eyed and freaked out as they could not work out what the heck I was doing.

i already feel so much better in myself for doing those simple things and the exercise certainly got the feel good chemicals moving in my brain.

Hope your feeling better today Samantha x

I hope your first day goes really well Manta!
I started doing 10 minutes of yoga every morning before work too, and I started last week
It’s a good start to the day.

Anxiousrock, when I get really anxious I find closing my eyes and taking slow deep breaths counting to five on the inhale and five on the exhale and consciously trying to slow down the counting really helps me. I hope you’re ok

Hey everyone,
I kept really busy all weekend with cleaning and organizing my laundry/utility room. It's quite big so I have shelving units and I store stuff in there. Well, it had gotten a bit out of control, so I went through every shelf, bin, and box and got rid of a lot of stuff and organized the rest, cleaning as I went. It's a joyful experience to walk through it on my way to my garage now. I also did a bit of shopping for supplies and things for my bathroom project. I'm really enjoying the process! I learn a lot doing things. like this, and I guess it has sort of become my hobby to do projects around my house. Not much else to do right now anyway, so it's good that I have things I can improve at home. I have projects lined up for years to come...

It's very cold in my neck of the woods right now. Yesterday morning the air temperature at my weather station got down to -22 F. The wind chill was in the neighborhood of -35 F. It's "warmer" today, only -10 when I got up. all the way up to -7 now. We will be in this cold snap for several days. This pales in comparison to 2 years ago when we were -35 F for the air temperature for a couple of days. I hate it. But I have no plans to move anywhere else for some time. It usually only gets this cold a few days a winter. I get through it.

Don't worry guys I usually bounce back quick!
weekend was okay, I feel like drinking today because I'm bored again.....was -50 when I woke up 💀🤢.
I'm sitting in a meeting now, but honestly I'm just kinda sick of them. I've done about 80 in the past under 1.5 months at the request of my sponsor.

Thanks Mags and greetings to all the Weekenders.

All is reasonably well on my front. Two months or so away from the SR community and I feel the need to catch up, strengthen the sober muscles and to keep reminding myself that anything taken for granted is often easily lost.

Must say I look forward to tuck in early tonight. Thoughts go out to those having to deal with freezing temperatures.

You will have to tell us about your first day Manta.

Hang in there AnxiousRock.

Good to hear from you Captain 👍

We got up early yesterday and head to the beach (mediteranean) despite the cold wind and rain. It was brilliant and we found these. I love collecting shells like a little kid happy out.
