Felt like checking in here

I just checked and 25 days sober. Starting to just become days of life. The anxiety is lessening. I can now enjoy a coffee or 2 in the morning without my thoughts getting caught up in a cyclone. Can definitely deal with some of the days stressors easier.
there is definitely some optimism growing in regards to building a physically and mentally healthier, happier life.
The anxiety, down moods and poor diet that come with an alcohol based life style really does drain a man of alot of energy, hope and motivation.
I still find it hard to imagine a life alcohol free so not looking too far ahead.
For now just concentrating on repairing and rebuilding myself.

Good work FC. 25 days is great. I found that physically I started feeling better after 10 days and mentally and emotionally feeling better at 10 weeks (especially in terms of anxiety improving massively).

Im now at 11 months and still go up and down but I'd describe those ups and downs as 'life'

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not guaranteed, all
we have is today to do all we can to be the healthiest,
sober person we can possibly be.

Don't give up and stay positive.

Congrats on 25 days. Totally get the "thoughts getting caught up like a cyclone" comment. I think it's about recognising when a cyclone is on the horizon and focusing on reacting well to it when it's all around you instead of trying to steer clear.

Congrats on 25 Days!

Life without alcohol?
Keep doing what you are doing and it will come. No need to imagine it.
I felt the same way at 1st, now all I want is a life without alcohol.

Very awesome Finalcall, congrats on making it this far. Hang in there... I’m on day 34 and keep telling myself- I’ve gotten through the worst of it and it’s getting better every day; don’t flub it up and have to start over and go through the worst of it AGAIN!

Life is so much better when you can sleep normal, think straight and make good decisions.
