7 days sober
Hi there - I'm 1 week sober (yay! This is a big deal for me) and while I am feeling good I think I was/am in a little denial that I would feel 100% immediately. First, I'm so tired! I have been eating well and drinking lots of water, taking vitamins. Walking my dog but not really exercising more than that. I'm hoping this week I'll have more energy.
Also, all of my senses seem heightened. It's weird but cool at the same time since I did not really comprehend the fact that I have been in a fog for a really long time.
Anyway, this is new adventure for sure. Happy to be here.

Welcome ANM, and congratulations on 7 days of sobriety. It's normal to feel tired in early recovery. Your body has healing to do and it might take a bit longer before you start to see real improvement. For me, it was probably close to 3 weeks before I felt like I was feeling good.
Welcome to SR ANM and congratulations on 7 days of sobriety. The tiredness is normal, at least it is for me at the 7 day point. As Anna posted, your body has healing to do. It usually takes me around 2 to 3 weeks to start to feel a lot more energetic and to feel like the fog is lifting.
I am about 1 1/2 weeks in and I am finally sleeping which helps with the energy. The brain fog is gone for the most part and that is the best. Thinking clearly helps to make good choices. Having the support on here has been absolutely crucial as well. Congrats on your 1 week!!!
Welcome to the family. Early sobriety has a lot of ups and downs. One day I'd be feeling great, the next day I'd feel terrible. But as long as you don't drink, you'll notice improvement. Congrats on the first of many sober weeks!
Hi ANM. Welcome to SR. I think it is great to keep things really simple at first. For a while it is all about you. I think eating right and taking the dog on long walks sounds about right. Focus on your health and enjoy those sharpened senses. It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that. Congrats on the (hopefully) 7 toughest days in your recovery.

Raise the old heart rate
I'm in the early days myself. I haven't exercised in 18 months while I was out drinking and drugging. I have been trying to get my endorphins going each day and that helps quite a bit. Helps me with perspective. I usually do this at the gym, but also have done whatever body weight things i can at home.
I find I'm low energy, but if I really push myself to exercise and exhaust myself through working out, i actually have more energy.
This early days are tricky, I'm so proud of your 7 days. We can do this!
