I was right

Yet I still made the choice to drink. I am not drinking today and I know I should never again. I went from 2 months sober to 2 months drunk. Today I have stopped with the full intention to be sick to be better. I want to be sober more than I want to be drunk.

Welcome! I like "be sick to be better." For me this time around I notice I'm not "snapping back to normal" like I almost always used to. I feel like it's actually helping make my commitment to stay sober sink in better than before.

Right. In my experience it gets harder to recover, from less alcohol, as I cut way back over the years. But it's still toxic to me physically and especially mentally.

Welcome back FinalCall. You can do it with the support here.

That's the sweet spot FC, "wanting to be sober more than wanting to drink." I've finally found that place myself, and best thing ever for sure.

I too found recovery began to take much longer than before. I guess sometimes we may not recover at all.

Congratulations FC. Good call.

When I finally got to that point, I finally and truly embraced sobriety.

You can, too!
