Hello weekenders!
It’s my 3rd weekend and it’s a 5 day one. I’m so thankful I’m sober and embarking on my first sober thanksgiving in years.
Thankful for my friends and family who are healthy!
Thankful for this community and all the support!

Congratulations on day 40 Phil. The days soon turn to weeks and the weeks to months.
Hi Bodhi, good to see you. Congratulations on your third weekend. Enjoy your long sober thanksgiving weekend
Erica, hope the antibiotics soon kick in.

Sobriety (and age) has taught me a lot, not the least of which is to expect nothing and appreciate everything.
I'm not having turkey because it's a hassle for one person, but I do have a full kitchen of other food for which I am very grateful.
I'll be out walking later today along with all the other full bellies. I hope they don't go out with the big groups that make trails difficult in this Avoidance Society 2020.
Eggnog coffee for the win.

Good Morning Weekenders
5am in the morning with coffee and mince pie for breakfast. Not a great start to the weekend but then again it’s a sober one. Which is always good.
See you later. xx

With you guys for another sober weekend too I feel so blessed and lucky to be able to spend all weekend, every weekend with my amazing fiancee and her two great kids.
Since getting sober 128 days ago, ive gained a family and lost 30 lbs.
I love weekends now for completely different, more positive reasons. None of this would have been possible without sobriety; I was a complete mess. SR is the primary reason why any of this worked for me and i'm very thankful to everyone who posts here.

Morning Weekenders
It's Black Friday and I was hoping for a few online deals to buy more Christmas presents but I haven't seen anything yet that I would consider a deal.
Mags, enjoy your breakfast. As long as you are sober you can treat yourself to something tasty. Even if it is just after 5am!
vMan, enjoy your coffee.Coffee is a favourite of people here at SR but it's something I've not drank for years. I can't drink it as I get shaky, sweaty and anxious when i do. I assume it's the caffeine but given that I never used to drink strong coffee (it was always just plain old Nescafe) it's a bit of a strong reaction. Yet I can drink tea with no problem. That's what I'm having now.
I love what you've posted Velvetee! Great cartoon picture and it also reminds me of a quiz question in a UK game show "Name something people take with them to the beach". The answer? Turkey!
It's from a UK quiz show called Family Fortunes (based on the US quiz show Family Feud) and is from the final round where two family members play for a big cash prize. While one family member answers the first part the second is in a soundproofed cubicle. The belief is that the second guy had overheard or probably lipread someone say "turkey" but didn't know what answer it was to... it's a classic moment and the family look like they want to kill him!
Owen, hope you have a great weekend.Sober weekends really are great, it's good to be able to remember them and enjoy positive memories. SR has made all the difference to me too.

OMG Robbie, I LOVE this stuff! Thanks for posting, I'm still laughing
Owen, great, great, great! You rock it. 30lbs is awesome! Weirdly, I have never put on weight while boozing and eating crap 🤷

Hi Velvetee, pleased to meet you!
Hey to Cityboy too. Keep going, I just increased my cardio slightly 3 times per week and made a few sacrifices on the chocolate and it worked out slowly but surely Good luck with your goals!
That is lucky Velvetee, I wish my body had processed the poison like that, it would have saved me lots of work
I don't think it was just the alcohol bloat with me, it was probably eating pizzas at 3am that made me gain weight haha. Madness!
Nice to see you again Robbie. That turkey video is hilarious mate!
Glad to be free of that insanity and happy to see all of you great people.
