125 days, 1 relapse
 

Hey everyone! Just a quick update/journal entry

It's been a long time since I posted but thanks to the support that I have continued to read on here I have only had one relapse in 125 days :)

Lots has happened in the past 125 days in this crazy life. I have become engaged to an amazing woman who has two great teenage kids. I have never been a stepfather before or ever had children, so the challenges that come with this are huge for me. It has threatened my sobriety a few times, but I have "played the tape through to the end" and beaten my AV down.

I had one brief relapse and I wanted to share my experience of how important it is to not dwell and fixate on failures. One relapse in 125 days is better than 125 drunk days. I hope this can help someone.

Good for you Owen. Keep it moving and put that last time far behind you. Congrats on the engagement. I started a new life, with work and family, in the midst of my early sober days - so to those who say you have to put all that off, I always said it can be done. Prioritize them, always put them first, and soon it will be your Self that you are also able to put first, each and every day. A better life. Congrats again.

Great post Owen and good to read that things are going well for you. Congratulations on the engagement - your life really is taking you in a new, better direction.

Congrats on your engagement and your sober time Owen. Sounds quite challenging but you know there’s a board full of support here and support in other places when you need it.

I hope you can make it so that relapse is your last :)

Congratulations on 125 days of sobriety and on your engagement. I'm glad that you are looking at your sobriety with a positive attitude. You have some challenges to face in your new relationship, but remember that we are here for you.

That's wonderful news about your engagement, Owen. It's great that you'll be beginning your new life with a clear head & steady nerves.
