Day 2 again and again

Hi Everyone

well ..that was a wild 3 months on the self destruct button yet again..just can’t seem to nail any sober time over a few months even though I feel great generally while not drinking 🤷🏻‍♂️

day 2 and still feel washed out , shaky and sweaty but million times better than yesterday

gotta keep on here now and not wander off after a few weeks !

Welcome back RE

yeah it takes concerted and continued effort - but it will get easier.
You can do this

The fact you are still trying to quit after all those relapses shows character and it shows how much you want sobriety. Work at it harder than you currently are. Like Dee said you can do this but it is going to take effort and for some of us a lot especially in the beginning. But if you put your mind to it you can do it and it does get easier with time!

You can do this. Sometimes it takes many many attempts to get "IT"
All we have is today. What can you do today to build a foundation of sobriety? AA or other platforms?
For me, getting more tools other than this platform has helped me to stay on track. I can get time under me and then I wander off as well. Stick around. Post often. Use all the resources available to you.

Wondered where you’d got to, Rainy.

Sorry you’ve had a bad few months. I would ask what happened to start you drinking again, but these are rubbish times. Saying that, no one should be using lockdown as a reason to relapse so maybe think what happened and try to fend it off in case you get tempted. You certainly didn’t take the relapse likely which is good as it is a problem. The more times you relapsed the harder it will have been to quit

Don’t be too hard on yourself. None of us quit first time. Are you doing anything new such a new hobby to replace the drinking time?

Rootin for ya man. Try getting some food in your belly. Anything. I liked creamy stuff like clam chowder soup or macaroni and cheese. Even two bites helps get your system going again.

ps. wow, just typing that reminds me of some really rough times.

Great to see you, rainy. Unfortunately, this had to happen to me a few times before I understood. I can't touch the stuff. There'll never be one drink, or 'a nice glass of wine'. Wasted so many years trying to make it so. Happy you are one step closer to ending the misery.

Hi Rainy,

Just remember you aren't the person that just had a wild three months. You are the person that learned from that experience and is changing that behavior for the better.
