Heading to the beach? Weekenders - 20-23 November 2020
If this is your first weekend sober, or many, come join us for support and chat...as we know the weekends can be a struggle sometimes. (We’re here all week too!)
I thought how much I’d like to sail away, find a quiet beach this weekend, forget our worries for a while. Fancy a trip?
Sounds impossible I know with our current world problems, though we now have a shining light in the tunnel.
So let’s dig deep into our little grey cells and
prepare to sail.
No rules except one, it’s a alcohol free weekend.
We need experienced yachtsmen and women to help guide the newbies and not so experienced?
Let’s leave it all behind on the shore and sail away.
How about some water sports. Join our MantaLady and MLD for some fun times.
A spot of diving.
Or even Kayaking.
When we land on the beach, we’ll have a beach hut each, bring your family and your pets, if you wish.
It’s a germ free island, safe for the weekend.
Plenty to do, relax, cook, sports. Whatever you feel like doing, with like minded people.
Arrangements have been made to have a picnic laid out for us on the veranda of the communal room behind the beach.
Enjoy the weekend!

I'm up earlier than normal today as I have to leave home early to go for a hospital appointment. It's a routine appointment so I shouldn't (hopefully) be there for too long. As the appointment is in a nearby city I would usually then head off to do something afterwards such as shopping and getting a bite to eat. Unfortunately all the places I would like to go to are currently closed due to lockdown so I'll probably be heading straight back home.
Robbie, hope the appointment goes well.
Divizes, 4th weekend is great. Around that time was when I began to transition from "wish I could drink like a normal person " to "why would I want to drink like a normal person?"
The beach buffet does look wonderful. There is such a strong mental connection between the beach and alcoholic beverages. For example, willow's beach shack immediately conjures images of a cooler full of Corona and white claws, and pitchers of rum runners and pina coladas. Perhaps that will be the final transition away from alcohol dependency, to think of the beach without thinking of drinking.

Afternoon Weekenders!
Back home already. My hospital appointment was with a dermatologist, everything is fine and I have been discharged so don't need to go back anymore, which is good.
It's a gloriously sunny, cold, autumn day. I'm going to head out for a nice walk around the local village this afternoon.
The picnic photo in Mags' first post is making me feel hungry.
