We'll put ours up the weekend before Thanksgiving. This year, we wanted to put it up in July just to have some cheer around the house, but we managed to restrain ourselves thinking about how many light strands would burn out before Christmas.

I know a friend who puts her's up Nov. 1. I'll probably be doing mine after Thanksgiving, but I'm tempted tbh. My boyfriend bought a house at the end of October and we're in the process of fixing it up, and I'm ridiculously excited to decorate a full house for the holidays, lol. I live in an apartment so I've only ever been able to have a small tree and some various decorations. It's the little things I guess.

No tree yet, but I've begun watching my 150 recorded Hallmark Movies.
Some family members have put their outdoor lights up already.
We get a real tree, so have to hold off for a while.

I put mine up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to it this year, usually I've dreaded it.

I do thanksgiving decorations up first weekend in november. I love the fall harvest celebrations then X-Mas. For me Yule time is all about the lights. I just adore the light show people put on in my neighborhood.

I had a little table tree up for years, mini ornaments and lights. It got dusty and I got tired of dusting it so I took the ornaments and lights off and pitched the tree. Haven't had a tree up since.

Thank you all for your reply's, I was on a bit of a downer when I ask that about Christmas trees, my husband hates it up before December and to be honest I hate when the baubles get all dusty too, but sometimes you just need to think about something light hearted to help tou through the day, hope you are all well x

With lots of things happening this yr. esp. with the shut down,
distancing, staying at home, being and staying safe still, maybe
this yr can be the exception.

If you want to put up a tree early this yr, then go for it. Treat
yourself. Be kind to yourself. Enjoy the holiday decoration or
decorating even more this year because there are no rules to
say when or how to decorate for the holidays.

You can begin now by doing one small thing, then add to it
each day. Bring in the holiday music to dance and sing to. It
all brings happiness within just as it does to a child.

The stores are playing holiday music and the decorations
are galore with new ideas to choose from. Right now I am
eying those water, glitter globes with holiday scenes in them.

They look magical, glittery and wonderful.

Since I am an avid gardener, i frequent our local nurseries
where they have amazing wonderful gifts to chose from
all yr round. Come each holiday, they decorate to the hilt
esp. for Christmas.

I enjoy walking around seeing the new items for this
yr while choosing a particular plant to put in my garden
of paradise.

If i could, i would collect many of those globes and let
the holidays begin today and everyday.

Follow your heart as it will never steer you wrong.

Oh, i picked up some eggnog ice cream this morning
for the first time to try as eggnog and holiday cookies
dont stay around for very long.

I'll not be putting mine up until December. However a couple of people in my street have already got their tree - with lights - up at their windows. I think people are doing this to try and cheer up themselves and their children. It's been a miserable year with Covid and here in England we are back in lockdown again. But I like to stick to tradition. The tree and decorations go up on 12 December and I then take them back down on 5 January!

The official time to put up the tree is before Thanksgiving day, because that begins the Holiday season. It must remain up until after New Years, or your just an ole' Grinch.
