Robbie I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending you love and support ❤️
My Mum was 86 when I lost Mum and Dad a couple of years back, and even though they had a “good long life” it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier ❤️ xx

Robbie I'm so sorry to hear about your father . Thinking of you during this stressful time.

Myself, will be sober this weekend.
almost at 7 weeks and i think about pizza and cake every second, so I haven't even thought about or considered alcohol. Maybe my solution all alone was just a long diet and I would miss sugar and grease so much I'd forget about alcohol all together?
regardless, I've been reading the forums every day for extra support.

My condolences to you Robbie, I'm glad that your dad is no longer in pain, that is something. I am also glad you are not drinking and were not drinking when he passed. We are here for you.

Congratulations on 7 weeks anxiousrock, I am on a minimal fat and sugar diet myself so I can empathise.

Beautiful day here, second day of Lockdown.

A fresh day, eh.

Robbie, I hope you are hanging in there and doing ok.

Happy with the results or not, at least myself and my fellow countrypeople can say that we had a chance to vote. Thinking seriously about cutting the cord with network TV as it brings nothing into my home that helps strengthen my family. Might wait until after the college football season though.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

My deepest sympathy to you, Robbie. That's a very sad story. Everyone processes grief a little differently. When my father passed away a few years ago, I felt a mix of emotions. He, too, had been in very poor health for years and had almost no life left. He was very unhappy and when he passed I also felt like perhaps he wanted to go, because he was unable to do almost everything he enjoyed. It had been painful for him and his friends and family for him to be living that way. I was sad, but also calm, and frankly, a bit relieved. I had to arrange everything, so I needed all my wits about me. I managed to stay sober even though there were really hard days, and I'm so glad I did. I'm happy that you were sober when he actually passed. I understand the temptation to just numb yourself and escape with alcohol, but you have now discovered that it's preferable to be sober and thinking clearly at these times. You will be in my thoughts.

Hi, weekenders.

I am finally having 5-days week. Yay!

After working on Saturdays for almost 1,5 month 2-day weekend seems like lots of time.

And I really could use some rest.

Any suggestion for a feel-good-light movie to give boost to mood and make me forget about the problems for a couple of hours?

The Grand Budapest Hotel! It's a crime/comedy with Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton. It is 4 or 5 years old so you might have seen it.

yep the diet is getting to me now. Its been a while....not over 1550 calories a day, protein highest macro then carbs and then fat. Obviously mostly whole foods and not crap haha. But last night I did have 3 chicken nuggets because I was losing my mind! Better than a drink!

It's a beautiful, sunny day here!

I have been trying to get a picture of our cat or cats on the top of the hot tub with a golden-leaved California Walnut in the background. The cats love to sleep on the hot tub--it's not warm, in fact it is one of the first places I see frost, but I think they just like the view from up there. Earlier this week, the tree was still green. I got a few pictures midweek, and now the tree has lost all its leaves. Here's Pono, posing for animal crackers:

That sounds like a good diet anxiousrock. No chicken nuggets for me but I do start the day with regular granola which has quite a high sugar content - I can't face the low sugar version. I don't really restrict the amount I eat, just what it is.

Pono is a splendid looking feline. He looks like he is thinking deep thoughts (I am assuming Pono is a he)

Pono is beautiful. He is wearing a typical unimpressed cat face. My cat often wears a similar expression
Hooray for Saturday and not working today!
