Pray for me

I'm in the psych ward right now. This has been two weeks in hospital. I was in regular hospital for a week following a siezure then I had a psychotic break and was taken to the psych ward.

This morning I see my psychiatrist and I find out if I'm being released. I cant take another day in hospital. Pray for me that my psychiatrist lets me go.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time, freedomfries! I hope things go your way, whatever way that is.

I hope you get to go home soon FF - but let your Drs make the decision based on their experience and expertise and in your best interests, ok? .

One of my troops attempted suicide and they locked him up in a psych ward.

The way he got out was to do exactly what he was told over a period of a few days. No arguments, problems, take the meds etc.

I remember thinking everyone there looked like zombies. I think it was the meds they were given.

Get free and stay clean. Hopefully, a clean life will eliminate the break downs etc.

There comes a point where the brain can't handle the booze any more. For me it was at about 30 years of binge drinking.

I started having episodes and they were getting more frequent.

My organs were failing. Pickled too long. Ridiculous to think I was destroying my mind and body for a euphoric high. When I was high I was missing out on the real world. Doesn't make sense to me any more.

Get well, get free, stay free.

Thanks.

FF, That's Awesome!! I am happy for you!

It sounds like you have been through a lot of difficulty.

Now I wish I had asked you to tell me about yourself before I posted tips for you.

How are you doing?

That's awesome, FF. We don't drink and we never will!

Gotta say, FF, something clicked in me at the 9 month mark. There is zero desire to drink and I'm branching out more. I don't have to "work" at it as much anymore. As long as we're sober, the balance and happiness we crave will come.

Wonderful news! Please continue to take care of yourself now that you’re out of the hospital. Follow the discharge directions.

You have a good foothold on sobriety with a month sober. Please check in once you’re settled at home. I’m sure someone will ask what your plan is. So, what’s your plan ?

Well finally back home and unpacked my bags. Feels good to be home. There's nothing like a psych ward stint to make you appreciate home.

I don't know about you, but when I get home from a hospital visit, I am thrilled to be able to put my underwear on, LOL But, that was many years ago and after I had spine surgery. And, of course, it's great to get home, too! I am glad you are

Going to have a nice bottle of non alcoholic white and some cake tonight to celebrate a month sober and my release from hospital. My mother has a bottle of regular white so she'll be joining the celebration.
