Congrats on 10 days Saoirse. I had a relapse a few months after we lost our sweet female Shepherd cross. “Lucy” You have a good start, keep it up. Don’t be like me. I suffered through 6 years of on/off drinking. My family suffered too. Keep posting. The best to you. |
I am really, really sorry for your loss......10 days is amazing and you can keep going xx |
So very sorry for your loss. At least you're sober and back here with us. |
I'm sorry for your loss Sapirse. D |
Losing a dog, is as devastating as losing a family member. It sure has been for me. But drinking about it never helped me. |
It's so painful to lose them - and yours was so young. I'm glad you're back with new resolve. 10 days is great - be proud of yourself Saoirse. |
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog. :( Sending prayers for peace of mind. |
Saoirse, I an so very sorry for your loss of your beautiful German Shepherd. I lost my beautiful German Shepherd boy to an unconquerable illness a few years ago, so I know how very special they are, truly wonderful souls, the heartbreak is so very hard. I'm so glad you've stopped drinking again. Hugs 🤗 x. |
Saoirse, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. Good job on 10 days of sobriety and I'm glad you're back. |
https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm Very sorry for your loss . |
I am so very sorry for your loss. That must have been absolutely devastating to you, I cannot even imagine. Big hug |
how are you doing saoirse? D |
I started drinking again when I lost my dog. And then my youngest went off to college. I used alcohol to ease the sadness. I got another dog, but was back to drinking again and didn’t really stop. My mom is pretty Sick right now. I've decided that drinking isn’t going to help me cope and I’ll miss out on really being with her (having the presence of mind). I wouldn’t forgive myself for that. Alcohol doesn’t take away sorrow Or painful memories like you wish it would |
Thank you everyone for your kind words and inspiration. Drinking just intensified the loss. He was so beautiful and so young. He was on meds for the seizures, so I never imagined him dying from epilepsy. One night we were outside playing and he started having seizures and they never stopped, he died on the way to the Vet. It was horrible. I wish I knew how to attach a picture of him to share. I miss him so much. I'm going to keep checking in, you are all so inspiring. 💜 |
It's a pain unlike any other. I'm glad he had you to love him & care for him. |
