Tomorrow can either be day 28 or day 1, up to you.
Take a drink and it will start the cycle of anxiety and depression and misery. Not much good is going to happen. Even 1 more day sober is always progress even it doesn't appear that way at the moment.
Our AV focuses on the glamor of drinking which in reality is a small part of it. It puts us in a fantasy land. Live here, live in reality, live life on life's terms.
Focus on the reality of the drink, sometimes the damage can not be undone.

I'm in the US and our country is super divided, covid is having its way with too many of our citizenry, my Dad is declining with age; I can do little to nothing about most of this but I can go to bed without drinking tonight.
Sometimes it is hard but it is still do-able.

I'm doing it because I need to be there for my daughter. After my parents are gone, i'm all she has. I'm doing it in the hope that I haven't reached the point of no return. I'm doing it to give my body and mind a chance to heal if that is still possible.

Urge surfing is a real tool for all of life, from intra-personal pain, to food and alcohol, good on your for learning how to do it. And you are doing it because you are drawn to live a better, more whole, larger, more meaningful, more peaceful, stronger and deep life that the life you live you are a slave to the bottle. It's not easy, but nothing worth it in life is easy.
