No matter what happens

With college or whatever

If I make it through the day without picking up the bottle, I wake up the next day with my sober day count increased by one. And eventually I'll have a month, the three months, then a year sober....

I'm sure my life will be much improved a year sober no matter what happens

And I won't pick up the bottle. I'll never drink again and I'll never change my mind.

It's day 16 now.

Yes, this. Exactly. Be accepting of whatever comes your way. We don’t know the future and we have no control over it. You’re not in a race FF.

Very true, sixteen days is great, the more sober time you build up, the better you will feel. Great job FF!❤️

Yeah, sobriety has to be non-negotiable.

No matter what happens, as long as I don't pick up a can, I'll be a month sober in two weeks. This is a very comforting thought.

ff, way to go on 16 days!
no need for letting the AV put that "if i make it" in that sentence, yes? every sober day leads to an increased count the next sober morning.

16 days is great. The days add up quickly when you stay busy. Keep studying and classes will be a breeze.

Keep it going! You can do it. I had to draw an absolute line when I quit. I had to say "never again, no matter what" in order to really get my sobriety going. No more "maybe someday I can drink again if I quit for a while." That just gives an opening to the AV and leaves you vulnerable, IMO. Good for you for making an absolute commitment!
