Please don't use your current life situation as a reason to drink or use.

It won't help.

Can I ask why you have no way to earn extra income?

There’s never a reason to drink for an alcoholic only an excuse. Drinking only makes an alcoholics life worse.

I'm really sorry that your job situation is so difficult right now. And, it's going to take time for things to improve in the travel industry. Are you sure there are no other options for you as far as employment? Staying sober is the way to get through this.

Being in the travel industry, I would assume you are fairly computer literate from the user side. Tech jobs are growing and becoming more of a remote work from home type of thing. There a lots of jobs where the job is to assist people who are not computer savy with navigating their way through accomplishing day to day matters in the new normal of the covid/pandemic/electronic age. Explore transitioning your skills into that arena.

I know how to use a computer and I actually do train people within my company to use theirs more efficiently. That being said, I am not an expert and not trained in IT. No one is looking for some random lady to teach them mediocre computer skills, IT experts offer courses for that

I mean, nothing that I'm qualified for anyways. I could certainly work at a grocery store or something like that but if it comes to that, I wouldn't make much and might as well be on EI.

Half the country is laid off and fighting for jobs. While I'm amazingly good at my job, and love it, I don't have a lot of other skills. I cant even drive, due to anxiety.
I would make a damn good receptionist, assistant, etc though, if given the chance.

I had a job doing phone support for a specific product. My job was to help people sort out their problems with their smart thermostat. I have a certification in networking but it wasn't needed to do the job. Probably half the people working with me had no computer certs, just good basic knowledge about how to navigate around in computers.

Think ms windows support. Think router support. Think banking support. There are also tons of smart devices out there and tons of people baffled by them. Think support for I-phones, android phones, etc. Your average person doesn't enroll in courses taught by compute experts...they call phone support!!!

Hi Anxiousrock. Staying sober is the best way to "travel". Look after yourself first and foremost. I hope you catch a break soon, and know how you feel. Just spent 3 weeks caring for my daughter who is recovering from surgery. She has schizophrenia and it has been incredibly stressful. We made it, and so will you.

Much love, Steely.
