Hi. Still stuck in the loop, I am going to try again tonight. Once I get the first night over with I seem to be ok for a while at least but it's just the dread of being awake all night that bargaining in my head to postpone quitting that seems to win every night.
Hopefully I don't cave later.

Hopefully - you'll realize soon that the only shift you need to make anywhere is with your thinking.
Stop drinking. That's the answer. Alcohol has to become a noncontender.
You'll quit when you're ready. Until then - you're just going to keep going 'round and 'round on your mental roller coaster.

If it wasn't 100% on me to stop pouring alcohol into my mouth I could see "hopefully" being a word I might use.
It IS 100% up to me whether or not alcohol goes in my mouth, so I'm going to agree with LumenandNyx.
We'll be here when you've decided to quit. Could be today.
Just for the record, you could go to the doctor and get some short-term medication to get you safely and comfortably over that detox hump and allow you to get some sleep, so - that, "Ohnoes, can't sleep," excuse doesn't hold up.
