8 Months
8 Months
It’s been a rough few months with two deaths in the family. I’m home on bereavement leave now. But I feel an underlying sense of strength and gratitude for having gotten through it sober. I can reflect on my recent past with no regrets...no wondering about what my life could be like without alcohol because I’m here, on the other side. I’m still amazed that I actually made it this far. Sobriety is worth the effort hands down.
As always, so much gratitude to SR and all of the wonderful people here.

Congratulations for your 8 months sober and also very sorry for your losses. Getting through hard times and remaining sober is a challenge, it's wonderful to be able to recognize it!
You said it - 'Sobriety is worth the effort hands down.', no doubt about it!

Stay strong, positive, responsible for your own
personal achievement in life and recovery as you
continue moving forward using the past to learn
from, today to live in and the future to grow towards.

I knew you could do it from the moment you set foot in this place.
Good on you!
Turns out the key is just sitting through that discomfort, no?
Be proud, very proud of yourself for doing that.

All journeys are different, but we seem to be following a similar timeline. I'm now 8 months sober and have sufferered bereavement and loss as well, and like you I made it. We made it. How good is that!
Congratulations Sober45.
