day 51

Hi all,

Well I made it through a tough weekend with a very close call on saturday. I was playing tennis and for the first time the av attacked me during my match. I had at one point mentally surrendered as I couldn't even focus and had said eff it mentally. Rushed home and spoke to sponsor and talking to him helped. He advised me to read through some of my old journals which really showed me how long the cycle has been going on and some of the horrendous times i've had trying to stop and withdrawing. The sponsor I have is from usa so not always available, he advised if I could to reach out for local support if possible. I did and got myself a local sponsor. I've been much better since thankfully in dealing with cravings. Grateful to be sober today just pray I can continue to do the next right thing because addiction is terrifying. Meeting sponsor face to face on thursday for a coffee. Thank goodness for SR and online meetings.

I’m so glad to hear that you reached out for help! Each time you battle with your AV you get STRONGER. Trust me, give it more time. It will get easier.

Well done someday on getting through the cravings.

Out of interest if your sponsor is in the USA how do you communicate? By computer or by phone? If the latter it would be very expensive.
