Here's a new low for me
Picturebigger - Oh, do I remember those days. One of the reasons I wanted to reclaim my life was so this behavior never happened again. The fun & relaxation that drinking once gave me was long gone. In the end, it was all about maintenance - so I wouldn't shake or get nauseous. A horrible, unsustainable way to live. It was such a relief to be in control again - to be free. You sound disgusted & exhausted - and that's a good thing. You can do it.

Hi,
I think that's a convenient thing we tell ourselves when we don't want to face the music. I don't believe for one second in alcoholic autopilot. Every single time an alcoholic drinks - he or she has made the decision to drink and then acted on their decision. That's all there is to it. Every motivating factor behind the decision and behavior to drink is bologna and is not an excuse.
There are no excuses to drink. None. Ever.
