30 Days!
Today is 30 days for me without a drop of alcohol. I honestly can't believe it! I made it this far once 10 years ago (I had just under 3 months), other than that I have not gone this long without a drink since I had my first drinks at 15 and I am now 41. It is amazing to think back over these 30 days and know that not one of them was wasted away due to hangovers, feeling dopey, physically inhibited, etc.). One Day At A Time has been my motto for this month and it has really helped me to just focus on the day of only. I've found that setting date markers ahead just brings me anxiety, so I've just been dealing one day at a time and it's really helped me. I start my new job tomorrow and I am so proud to have this sober month in my corner to take on this new chapter. Have a great Sunday everyone and Thank You Sr, this site has been so important in my last month.
yay, may it be the first of many months.
Tomorrow on the new job if you feel excited, anxious, off-balance? Think about us. In early days I would list in my head as many usernames as I could remember when I was hit with some sort of uncomfortable feeling that would previously lead me to drink. It's amazing how many of them would come to me.
Then I would remember that every. single. one. of them would tell me - Move on. Nothing to see here. You don't drink.
