Not waiting until 12:00

This is the first Sunday I can remember that I’m not counting down until 12:00 pm to get alcohol. My Sunday’s normally consisted of “dying” in bed until alcohol was being sold. I’ve made it to 8 days sober and I’m super proud. As I was headed to Subway for lunch I passed a few bars, liquor stores, and gas stations. These places were already packed right at noon, and I’m not the least bit jealous. The thought of alcohol makes my insides sick.

That's really good. I had that feeling of disgust for quite a long time after I got sober and now it's more like a sort of "hell no" attitude

Good job on 8 days! It's awesome freeing your Sundays up to do stuff you want to do instead of feeling awful all day.

Beautiful post...I ride by the liquor stores on day 30 and say F-U!!!!!
to the store not the people, I say a quick prayer for anyone who was suffering like I was....

On Sunday here they open at 10am and I would leave my Dad at church to run to the store to get some nips to get me thru church and get my Dad home while I was still somewhat sober.

It is such a liberating feeling now to drive by these places and not feel the "darkness" and "depression" I would feel as I pulled my car into those places...

Excellent progress and love the attitude. And like Missy said, we can pray for those still suffering. I find doing that really reinforces my sobriety. Keep it going!
