Sailing away from it all, 14-17 August 2020 - Weekenders

to the Weekenders

Sailing away for a few days sounds a good pastime this weekend. I remember we had a short holiday at the beginning of the pandemic so why not again!

We can find a beach.

Go diving (be nice to see MantaLady join us)

Kayaking too, maybe

Mainly, staying sober, with good company and plenty of food.

Life is much more fun sober.

If this is your first weekend sober, or many, come join us for support and chat...as we know the weekends can be a struggle sometimes. (We’re here all week too!)

That all looks like good fun. I'm going to jump aboard early for this trip on my first sober weekend in too long

Shotgun again!

And in the middle of the night here (again)... an owl was just hooting like crazy. Woke me up. Must’ve been telling me to ride the sober fun bus with you all again this weekend.

So far the weekenders is saving me from the AV.

I like the post. I will try lots of “sailing” this weekend and keep posting.

Day 17 today.

Thanks Mags. Thanks weekenders. Thanks SR.

that’s awesome finalcall. You won’t regret it. Waking up without a hangover feels so much better. I’m only on day 17. This will be weekend 3 for me, but man... the weekenders hey me through.

Good to see you Finalcall.

Congratulations on shotgun Beels. 17 days is brilliant! I love the sound of owls. They sound so eerie.

Thanks Mags.

Took Alfie for swimming this morning as it is good for his leg. He is nearly as good as Titti.

that’s awesome Owen. These weekends are adding up. Can’t say I miss the hangovers.

I’m planning to get out on my kayak and do some trail riding this weekend. You?

Hello everyone.

I have been speaking to my dear friend Mags and she has encouraged me to come and talk.

i don’t even know where to start , I have been the happiest I have been in years, my relationship with my hubby has never been better , we are doing up our house , I HAD. A DRINK . I FEEL LIKE AN ABSOLUTE FAILURE .

im almost 2 years sober . How can I possibly feel like drinking in the midst of such happiness ? Isn’t it supposed to work in reverse ? When you’re sad and down and feeling hopeless.

i am just so very disappointed in myself , I truly need some support and some advice.

I hope you can help me somehow. Thanks xxx

much love

Wendy xx

Wendy, don’t beat yourself up. It took you a lot to come here.

This is where you can check out your tool box and build those sober muscles. With people who ‘get’ you because we know what you’re going through.

No judgment from us. I know you’re upset with yourself at drinking.

You can rejoice in the fact you don’t ever need to feel remorseful again.

Don’t beat yourself sweetheart. Sending much love and hugs. xxxx

The AV will take any opportunity Snoozy. Happy or sad.

I often wonder what would happen if I won the lottery ...

We have to remember those words, I don't drink, no matter what.

Nice to see you.

Sorry to hear about your wobble Wendy. What was it that made you decide to do it? Or was it just a spur of the moment thing? Just curious. Well done on stopping yourself quickly, these things can quickly turn into huge binges. You showed lots of strength holding back the tidal wave.
