I'm back

With my tail between my legs, I've been reading on here for a while again, never getting the courage to write anything, but I have to stop this madness again before it stops me, I'm like a big bloated frog, and generally unwell from this stupidity

Dee74 08-10-2020 09:25 PM

Hi and welcome back Boggle :)
I’m glad you posted today- it’s a start, man :)

Billymacintosh 08-10-2020 10:01 PM

Welcome Boggle! Today is always the best day to get sober :)
Wishing you the best
Love Billy x

Boggle10 08-10-2020 10:11 PM

Thank you Dee and Billy, I feel a bit more positive by just writing that, I had 3 months before Christmas and made it into the new year with lots of sober time then I just fell back into the booze, had days off here and there but as of the last month its everyday, madness that it is x

Stronger2017 08-10-2020 10:20 PM

Glad to see you posted🙂 I wrote something on SR most days in my first year and it did help. I particularly liked my class thread and the one year and under thread for keeping me focused on staying sober.

Boggle10 08-10-2020 10:25 PM

Stronger, il try anything at this stage, I'm here with that fog feeling, head hurts, stomach heaving, and exhausted, now I know I won't sleep as il have nightmares, and fear of death, I know, or at least hope it will pass, x

Wastinglife 08-10-2020 10:48 PM

I know those nightmares well, Boggle. A byproduct of the neurotoxin alcohol is. Something we all forget is the effect alcohol has on the brain. I need at least a week to recover now. Feel well soon!

One thing I did on this quit was to make SR my homepage. So every time I wanted to go-online, I would have to go through SR to get there. I believe it helped because in the past I noticed that when I stopped reading the forums plus other stuff I did or didn't do, I eventually relapsed.

It's still that way today.

Boggle10 08-10-2020 11:23 PM

Thank you, wasting life, if only we had never started to drink in the first place, maybe this is the punishment I deserve for being so greedy when it comes to drinking,

Boggle10 08-11-2020 02:49 AM

Controls, I stopped reading to, it was like if I looked at Sr everyone would know I was drinking again, stupid I know, at least Im not on my own, not that I would wish this on anyone, if that makes sence x

C0ntr0ls 08-11-2020 03:12 AM

Another unfortunate thing about going through SR to get to the interwebs is it "kind-of" forces/reminds me to read the relapse threads which reinforces my quit. Just wish I would have learned earlier to learn from others mistakes on this subject.

YMMV

YOu made it back, that's a start. If you have medical coverage or the means, you may want to see a doc. Bloating can potentially be nothing, or something serious.

MaximusD 08-11-2020 08:34 AM

Boggle, welcome! Make sure that you keep posting! Watch out for the AV and it telling you to not post for whatever reason it makes up. Be prepared to guard against relapse and if it happens just get right back on. Stay here no matter what and post. Try to reframe your thinking to be more positive. Most people never seek help for their substance abuse so you are here and among the best as you are trying to quit and seeking help! We are all in your corner.

Reid82 08-11-2020 08:55 AM

Welcome back, hope you can make it stick this time around.

Sucks, doesn't it...?
Good thing you don't have to keep repeating this madness.
Stop drinking.

Hi Boggle. You learned something valuable - you feel horrible & it simply is not worth it. It's not fun, relaxing, or exciting. It brings only misery, confusion, & anxiety.
Now you have further proof of that - no need to ever start up again.
We are with you - hope you'll keep reading & posting.

Mary88 08-11-2020 01:10 PM

Glad you posted. Sounds like you are ready to get sober for good.

Fusion 08-11-2020 01:17 PM

Welcome back, Boggle. So you've done three months previously, it's doable! Yet this time, keep reading and posting here and don't listen to your AV that lies to you, saying you've done three months, so why not drink! If you can do three months, you can achieve that once more, and far, far surpass it, with support and dedication, indefinitely!

Boggle10 08-11-2020 08:49 PM

Thanks to you all for your kind reply, I'm just on day 2, yesterday I stayed busy, washing, cooking, you know, was a blessing to get to bed, although not much sleep, I am grateful that I made it a day, x

Wastinglife 08-11-2020 09:07 PM

Insomnia, bad sleep. Keep busy. Distract yourself. You will just fall asleep when your body has adjusted to no alcohol in the system.
