Laura3 - please post

I saw your other thread got closed. The moderators are playing the role they are supposed to. That doesn’t mean they don’t support you and it certainly doesn’t mean others don’t. For now I would recommend DEFINITELY staying off the shrooms. And really focusing on the alcohol. You were supposed to start sobriety today from alcohol. Did you?

Thats a tough question because if I were in jail or homeless there would probably be more options available to help me in recovery, I know people in prison who are living better than I am

Laura, I'm pretty sure that you would not be better off in prison, or homeless. You mentioned a life crisis before. Perhaps this should be your focus right now. Being defensive of drug and alcohol abuse, and fantasizing about being in prison are not productive.

Every person here would love to help and wants to see you make forward progress.

I hope you'll pour out what's left and make a new start as of now.

AA is free and available to everyone. Whatever preconceived notions you have or any experiences you may have, you don’t appear to be in a position to be be choosy.

Is drinking really that fun? Man, it is hard on me. I hate it, so I’m gonna keep trying. Why not try with us?

I understand this comment Laura....there is so much help given to people that are in the "system".....I have witnessed this my whole life as I worked a 9-5 job and made a ton of money and my sister was getting so many benefits (which it is not her fault the systems work the way they do). And me that worked my whole life and much overtime couldn't get into so many programs that would have benefited me. Its super frustrating and I get it.

For me this last time thou...I didn't care about a rehab, detox, AA, counselors, therapy, my house or my house bills, my car or insurance payments, didn't care about what I looked like or who didn't believe me i wasn't going to drink anymore.....all I cared about was staying alive....I know I was at deaths door...and I think when I reached that point I was able to say...I just want to live....and however I live (if I live) I made it clear to myself that if I made it thru that last detox....I will LIVE without alcohol.

I'm glad you posted Laura. Everyone here is pretty broken and we all have and/or are continuing to struggle as we try to live drug and alcohol free. It is a super tough thing to give up.

Consider joining the August 2020 class. It just started.
