Grief
Sobriety requires a change in behavior and a change in thinking/outlook. If you're a drunk then grief drives you to drink, but if we're being honest every is a reason to drink. Great day? Celebrate with booze! Lousy day? Drown your sorrows! True, a profound loss can be a trigger but once you've committed to sobriety you learn to tackle grief differently. After almost eight years sober even the worst days don't make me want to drink...mostly because nothing is ever so bad that booze can't make it worse.
